A handful of quick thoughts to start us off...

-It's heartbreaking how much thought Eleanor clearly put into Chidi's house.

-I'm honestly kind of loving Simone's complete disbelief!

-Not too surprising that something was up with Linda, but I'd been guessing she was just a human serial killer.

-Shawn's whole "no, you!" shtick was kind of horribly relevant to current affairs, wasn't it?

-I'm loving all of Eleanor's Architect suits, but the one she wore for flying day was incredible.

Me too! It makes sense. Although I wonder if they'll convince her by suggesting that she'd be less likely to doubt a dream?

I was thinking she was one of those people who's dismissive of everyone, then when she first punched Eleanor I thought she was seriously passive aggressive. And then it escalated. Literally. :P

Yes, when Eleanor called him on just accusing them of what he was doing I said to my SO, "Well, we snuck in the Republican playbook there."

Simone's response was pretty funny and yet made perfect sense! I hope they let that run for a while.

I guess we'll find out! This show moves at such a whirlwind place sometimes, but rarely in the ways I predict. And they could be doing something with Simone's belief that this is all in her head -- maybe like that tumblr post about the ultimate power fantasy of being able to make people's lives better?

Oh, man, I hadn't realized it had aired already so I had to stop everything when I saw this post and go and watch it.

I have no idea where they're going to go with this.

Loved Simone just deciding none of it was real.

I love all of these characters.

I'm so glad I could let you know! I have no idea where they're heading with this season, either, but it's going to be so much fun finding out.

I think it's too early to say, honestly! It was very much an opener of an episode, a bit like season two really.

They played Eleanor's heartache very well. Also, I loved that the rest of the characters were there for her. A lot of shows and movies will show a character in such a predicament being alone, as it were, I guess for dramatic effect? I liked that she wasn't. They're all in this together.

Oh, that's such a lovely point about Eleanor having that support. It's both beautiful to see, and another way of supporting the show's message that humans can be good for each other.

I must shout out about "1-8-77-Kars-4-Kids" being the theme song of the Bad Place.

Also, I think I might have worn Mindy's suit in the late 80s.

Yes! We don't even see commercials and yet we knew enough about that to make it our one LOL moment of the episode.

Perhaps my favorite line is Sean's accusation of cheating by saying "That's like studying for a test and then acing that test!"

The book Chidi chooses to summon into his hand is Kant's Critique of Pure Reason! [heart]

Oh, thank you for linking! I really like your thought about Simone's possible flaw -- I love her, obviously, but sometimes her irreverence does seem to hurt people, albeit briefly.

I won't lie, I got a bit teary eyed at the amount of thought Eleanor put into Chidi's house.

I enjoyed Simone's presence last season, so I'm glad she's back in this one. I'm loving her total disbelief!

I knew something was up with Linda, but I thought they'd just picked someone dour as could be. Made my husband jump by bellowing "she's a demon!!!!" when she punched Eleanor.
